More news on weapons
Since the new weapons feature is still in beta mode you won't be seeing a huge variety of items. Until now! ... I haven't heard many bug reports so I think I will be expending the list of weapons we got and add them to the black market for sale so you can see all the weapons for sale int eh game. Some more weapons related thing will also be added such as grouping of similar items, enforcing the health of a weapon (they will break over time), showing what weapon a ninja has equipped on the profile page etc... if you have suggestions for items, please use the contact us tab.
Economic stimulus package
Dueling ninjas will have it's own economic stimulus package passed! From now on offers are worth a lot more. This is the lifeline of Dueling Ninjas. Hosting is expensive so we need everyone to help out the site by helping them selves to some delicious Yen! ... Please take a moment to review the new opportunities offered by the shopping feature and the daily surveys are fun also! Soon there will be a lot more things to buy including all the weapons in the game, character upgrades, prestige items, clan vault, etc ... Yen will also be given out during missions so you don't miss out on all the fun but please do use the offers page to keep DN going!
Ninja weapons in the open
As promised, weapons have been added to the game. It has been a lot of work and there are still a few things left to do but here is how things work right now ... Weapons are dropped by requested enemies just like items except a lot less often. You can equip gear on your "manage gear" screen. Weapons and armor will affect your minimum and maximum attack and deference when fighting. Different weapons have different attributes. They also have an HP which indicates how long the weapon will last. Some items break easier then others. Right now this is not implemented but it will be in place soon. Armor will also protect you from projectile weapons. This feature is big and new so let me know if you find some problems.
Say hello to our new Friendster ninja
I just got an email form Friendster stating that Dueling Ninjas got Approved and we are ready to go live! .. I can't find it in the apps list just yet but it won't be much longer now! I hope we get a healthy does of new users and can grow our community and cross the social network divide with some healthy dueling!

Dueling Ninjas is a ninja themed social networking site as well as a MMORPG. I want it to span as many social networks as possible to bring all the ninjas on the internet together. The goal is to be able to duel anyone off any social network. The newest social network to be added to the list is Friendster. Dueling Ninjas is going through the approval process right now and should go live soon. I hope to see lots of new ninja.
Keeping your items organized
There have been many requests for an update to the item management system and I am happy to say that the changes have gone live today. You will now see a (X1) after your item indicating the quantity. You will also notice the new drop link. This can be used to discard items you don't want anymore. Have fun!
Freebies and other seasonal perks
We have been having special XP boosts for the holidays and other special days. We have had double XP and unbalanced enemies that would give you a lot of XP for defeating them. From now on, I will also add free cash and put special items on sale on the Black Market. The next special day is going to be Valentines Day! I am looking froward to giving out a bunch of ninja XP love!
Fresh food, fresh weapons
I have been busy filling up the items list. There are some new weapons, food items, drinks. You can buy these items on the Black Market or get them for doing the story mode. There will be a lot more items coming and I plan on adding weapons and armor soon. Hopefully next weekend the changes can go live. We will start off with a few basic ninja weapons and expand from there.
The Black Market is operational
I am happy to announce that the Black Market is now operational. You can purchase any item you like there for a small amount and support the site at the same time! There is an easy offer system available to earn more yen. I also added 100 yen for everyone so you get a chance to try out the shop for your self! Happy shopping ninjas!
Just look at all the ninja out in the open
A new change was voted on on the myspace discussion board over the last few days and from now on penalty points will decrease over time. After getting killed you have 2.5 days to recover. You can extend your hiding, cover your tracks, with a smoke bomb which you can get during the story mode. The penalty only gets paid off if you have started to build hp again. As a side effect I accidentally exposed all the ninja which is perhaps a nice message for the new year where I am focusing on more battles, more dueling, more ninja fun!
