What a pretty map
The collection of influence points has started yesterday and now you can already see the results. I added in the remaining few elements needed to represent the influence points collected for the clans and added a color coding system for the map. The top clan for the area will show on the map but you can get better details on the place detail page. Here you can see the top ten clans so you know how many points more you need to put your clan on top. Influence points are collected by traveling to a place and being in the open. Who will control Japan?!
Start building your influence
Even though the influence levels on territories are not shown yet, the count has officially started. You will NOT have to pick a main clan to represent, you will just build influence for all clans you have joined. To build influence, you have to be in the open. All territories are up for grabs except Tokyo which will remain neutral. The more people a clan has in the open the more influence you gain.
Spread ninja with more durable weapons
I have a few small changes to announce ... you are now being tracked by the game as you move across the map. On the map screen, you can see how many ninja are in each location and your location is listed on your profile and public profile ... hidden on public profile if you are hiding ... I also made the weapons more durable especially some of the top swords ... location doesn't do much right now but soon it will be used for dueling so you can arrange private duels in different places.
Let's put Dueling Ninjas on the map
The story mode is going to be more integrated into the game. The places screen is now replaced by a map of japan with actual names of cities representing territories. Other then that, not much has changed about the way the story mode works but they are on the way. Soon you will have to travel across Japan to find ninjas to duel ... this way you have a better chance of privately dueling and sectioned off clan wars will come ... but what is even more exciting is that clans will son be able to control the territories listed. I'm excited to put this new feature in ... it should fix a lot of the short comings and add a great deal more depth to the game.
New shipment of weapons has arrived
Go to the Black Market and check out the brand new shipment of weapons that arrived. We have all kinds of Japanese and Chinese weapons for sale starting with simple wooden sticks to legendary Japanese swords ... Also donors will receive special weapons that are not available for purchase (previous donors will be rewarded also) based on your donation amount. There is also a large shipment of armor on the way.
Just look at all this cheap plastic gear
As some of you might have already noticed, gear durability points are now enforced. Your armor will break when hit and your weapons will break when attacking with them. You will probably notice that your gear does not last very long if you are a powerful ninja but also keep in mind most weapons right now are very basic ... to fix this, go to the items, weapons, food clan and help to build the list so we can have some cool gear soon. I want to have a nearly complete list of items to add first so I don't have to go back and edit things later :)
What to do with all this Yen?!
I have passed the second stimulus package in these harsh financial times. You can now earn ten times as much yen when completing offers and help pay for new game features and the server costs. I also lowered the prices of items on the Black Market. Let the shopping spree begin! So far we sold 5500 items and gear. Let's see how long it takes to double that!
Clean up your gear!
Dueling Ninjas got a donation today! Which made me really happy and eager to do some work on the website so I added gear grouping and the ability to drop unwanted gear! Gear HP has been renamed to Durability Points ... HP didn't make sense. The durebility is still left alone for the time being, until the final list of weapons and armor being added is worked out. Hopefully the list will be ready in the next few days and we will have a whole bunch of new awesome gear to play with!
More Items and Gear updates, Yen for missions
You can now buy gear on the Black Market! You can also see a complete list of all the gear we have currently available in the game. As you see, I haven't added the exciting weapons yet ... join the items, gear clan to add to the growing list. Hopefully it will be complete enough so I can add them all this weekend! ... There are also a few new items for sale and ... the best for last ... you can now earn Yen in missions! ... Yen is dropped like any other items and work the same way.
Magic 1 HP
I have heard reports of people getting stuck at 1 HP and not dieing. I applied a patch but I'm not sure if it will fix the problem. If you have seen this, please use the contact us and give as much detail about the situation as possible ... were you attacking, being attacked, did items work, were you/them wearing armor or weapons? etc ...
